Lori's Birthday

Yesterday, January 24 was Lori's 42nd birthday. We had a small get together here at my house for her. A good time was had by all, but I don't think any event ever comes off smoothly. Home made ice cream sounded like a good thing to go with her birthday cake, so I started out early getting everything ready. My recipe was for a gallon of ice cream and not realizing that I was using a 1 1/2 gallon freezer, I filled up the container and started freezing away. I had put the freezer outside to prevent salty ice from going in the sink and checked on it regularly. Once I came in to check on something in the oven and sorta forgot the freezer. I ran out to check, it had cut off and the motor was smoking. I'm pretty sure I ruined the motor, but we did have ice cream..........more like pleasantly flavored iced milk since I added extra to it. This prevented no one from eating it tho and some even took a container home with them. Lori got cards from everyone that had scratch offs in them and she came out , I think, about $35.00 ahead. Carli bro't her "friend" from Tulia (he's such a nice boy, and so polite) and Conor came in for the festivities. Lana, Lynsi, Clay, Linda, Kara, Lori , Conor, Calor, Carli, Don and I were all the family that got to come. Silly me, I took some pictures with my new camera and put them on my computer, but they didn't go to "my pictures" and now I can't find them. So we will not have a picture for this post. This will in NO way surprise my kids. But, alas, I do the best I can and I WILL learn.
