Eight Gifts

I don't post much anymore, but ran across this today and wanted to share. It is so true about life.
Eight Gifts
That Don't Cost A Cent!

~THE GIFT OF LISTENING~ But, you must REALLY listen. No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning your response. Just listening.

~THE GIFT OF AFFECTION~ Be generous with appropriate hugs, kisses, pats on the back and handholds. Let these small actions demonstrate the love you have for family and friends.

~THE GIFT OF LAUGHTER~ Clip cartoons. Share articles and funny stories. Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you."

~THE GIFT OF A WRITTEN NOTE~ It can be a simple "Thanks for the help" note, or a full sonnet. A brief, handwritten note may be remembered for a lifetime, and may even change a life.

~THE GIFT OF A COMPLIMENT~ A simple and sincere, "You look great in red," "You did a super job," or "That was a wonderful meal", can make someone's day.

~THE GIFT OF A FAVOR~ Every day, go out of your way to do something kind.

~THE GIFT OF SOLITUDE~ There are times when we want nothing better than to be left alone. Be sensitive to those times and give the gift of solitude to others.

~THE GIFT OF A CHEERFUL DISPOSITION~ The easiest way to feel good is to extend a kind word to someone, really it's not that hard to say, "Hello" or "Thank You."

And Don't Forget ~~

LOVE is A Gift We Can Give Every Day!!!

Days are long, but years are short.

I haven't posted in a while because staying at home most of the time, I don't have any adventures to talk about like a lot of you young people. Years ago, tho, I had adventures and no one can take my memories. Each year brings more blessings to me and my family. Isn't it hard to forget our blessings sometimes until an unfortunate sadness comes in for a visit. I thank the Lord every morning when I get up, that I could get up. There are so many people less fortunate than me.
I have learned to stop and pray for people, like the ladies that come by my house every morning walking their dogs. They are having such a good time and the little dogs are precious. I simply ask the Lord to keep them safe. This is a simple thing to do and it makes me feel so much better. My day goes more smoothly, too. If we could all pray for the simple things we see every day..........wouldn't the world be better. We of course all pray for Haiti and Chile and for the horrible disasters in the world. Sometimes we forget to pray for the little things. Try this sometime and see how much better it makes you feel. When someone has road rage for something you accidently did, just put your hands together under your chin and let them know you are sorry and praying for them.
I still haven't mastered the blogging.............you know decorations and correct positioning of the pictures...........so please say a small prayer for me(insert smile). I love it.

"If you're not using your smile, you are like the man with a million dollars in the bank and no checkbook."
